Idiom: an old flame

An old flame is someone who is a former boyfriend or girlfriend.

 

Examples of use:

1. Do you know him?

    He's just an old flame.

2. I just discovered that my boss is an old flame of my husband!

3. He met his old flame at the school reunion.

4. His girfriend is jealous of his old flame.
